TODDLER ROOM

AGES 2-2.9

 

The Toddler Program is designed to maximize each child's educational, social and emotional growth. Teachers provide enriching activities that help our toddlers become more comfortable with language.  Teachers read books to help toddlers build their vocabulary.  During the day there are opportunities to listen to music, sing songs, and do fingerplays to further enhance language developement.  Simple math concepts, such as size, counting, shapes and colors are introduced.  The toddlers explore art including, crayons, chalk, painting and glue.  Daily sensory activites include, playdough, sand table, shaving cream and rice table.  Free Play experiences add more stimulation as they learn and play house, care for dolls, build with blocks, and manipulate cars and trucks.

Each child is given a daily report sheet that gives parents information on their snacks, meals, diapers and activities.

PRESCHOOL ROOM

AGES 2.9 - 4

 

 

In the Preschool room the children are introduced to developmentally appropriate, theme based concepts through fun and exciting group and individual experiences.  Children are encouraged to explore all aspects of the classroom, growing and learning everyday. Group time helps the children learn how to function in a group setting.  This time is used to do the calendar, weather and talk about whats going on all around us.  Math skills are introduced with hands on experiences, as child work on counting, sorting, comparing, classifying and measuring.  Fine Motor skills are strengthened through the use of manipulatives, play dough, sand table and a variety of art experiences.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PRE-KINDERGARTEN ROOM

AGES 4-5

 

Our Pre-K program provides a wide variety of planned activities centered on getting children ready to excel in Kindergarten.

Educational activities are offered in areas of science, music, art, language, letters, numbers and early math.  Emphasis is placed on social interaction, emotional growth and independence.  Children learn to follow directions, take turns, share and be a good friend.  They are given lots of opportunities to make decisions and encouraged to make good choices.  Children are exposed to a wide variety of fine motor activities that help them develop the skills they need to write letters.
